Test samples
Prepare three test samples from cable samples with a length of 3m. Test samples are taken every 1m. Peel off the insulation from the cable. A test specimen consists of a thin insulating cross-section. During preparation, be careful not to deform the specimen. If the cable marking causes insulation indentation, take the first test sample through this indentation.
60V cable
The test sample was immersed in a bath for 4 hours as shown in Figure 1, and then a test Voltage of 1 kV (r.m.s.) was applied. Leave 30 minutes between the conductor and the bath. The Voltage is then increased at a rate of 500 V/s until the following values are reached: 0.5mm2 < for -3 kV (r.m.s.) cables and 0.5 mm2 > for -5 kV (r.m.s.) cables
600V cable
After completing the procedure for the 60V cable, hold 3 kV or 5 kV for another 5min
