Introduction
The Modern Environment QFH 3mm (5 slot) cross-reticle is designed and manufactured according to ISO2409 standards.Cross gridIt is mainly suitable for the determination of adhesion of organic coatings, not only for the laboratory, but also for the construction site under various conditions.
Operating Principle and what it can be applied to
Cross gridThe coating is cut and penetrated according to the grid pattern, and the finished pattern is classified according to six levels to evaluate the resistance of the coating to be separated from the substrate.
Cross gridThere are three sizes of multi-edged cutters (1mm, 2mm, 3mm) to choose from depending on the test conditions. The 1mm pitch multi-edge cutter is suitable for specimens with a coating thickness of <60μm, the 2mm pitch blade cutter is suitable for specimens with a coating thickness of 60~100μm, and the 3mm pitch blade cutter is suitable for specimens with a coating thickness of 60~150μm. The test piece should be made of glass, tinplate, aluminum, etc.

Test kits
1. Soft brush (bring your own)
2. Magnifying glass (bring your own)
Operating Principle:
1) The specimen needs to be prepared according to ISO R1514 and ISO 2808.
2) Place the specimen on a plate with sufficient hardness.
3) Hold the scratcher handle so that the multi-edged cutter is perpendicular to the plane of the test board.
4) Cut with uniform pressure, smooth and non-shaking technique at a cutting speed of 20~50mm/s.
5) Rotate the specimen 90° and repeat the above operations on the incision to form a lattice pattern.
6) Use a soft-bristled brush to gently reciprocate 5 times in each direction along the two diagonals of the grid pattern.
7) The test should be completed at least three different positions of the test piece, and if the results of the test at the three positions are different, the test should be repeated at more than three positions, and all the results should be recorded at the same time.
Precautions
1. All incisions should penetrate the coating, but the cutting into the substrate should not be too deep.
2. If the coating is too thick and too hard and cannot penetrate the substrate, the test is invalid, but it should be stated in the test report.
3. In special circumstances, it must be measured by adhesive tape. Generally, 25mm wide translucent tape is applied to the entire marking board, and then peeled off at the smallest angle, and the result can be obtained according to the proportion of the area off the surface of the paint film.
4. The test should be carried out at a temperature of 23°C±2°C and a Relative Humidity of 50±5%.
Determination of levels
Grading Instructions
The edges of the 0 cut are completely smooth, not a single square falls off.
1. There is a little separation of the coating at the intersection of the cut, and the affected area is obviously not more than 5%.
The coating peeling off at the edge or intersection of the 2 ports is obviously greater than 5%, but the impact is obviously not more than 15%.
3. The coating is partially or completely peeled off in large fragments along the cutting edge, or partially or completely peeled off on different parts of the lattice, which is obviously greater than 15%, but the impact is obviously not more than 35%.
4. The coating peels off along the cutting edge, large fragments, or some squares partially or completely fall off, obviously greater than 35%, but the affected is obviously not more than 65%.
5 Severe spalling greater than Category 4.
Note: Visual inspection can be done with a magnifying glass.
Maintenance & Custody
1. After the test, the paint film scratcher should be wiped clean and put into the paint film scratcher box and placed in a dry place.
2. This paint film scratcher has a four-sided blade for use, when the blade is not sharp, you can unscrew the boat-shaped nut, pull out the bolt, and change the blade.
3. If the blades on all four sides are not sharp, the paint film scratcher can be repaired.
